Pi Network is implementing a set of technical updates in response to the KYC and Mainnet migration issues impeding users. 417,000 Pioneers Clear a KYC Roadblock
Pi has improved the reviewing process of those accounts that have been previously flagged as potential duplicate accounts. Following further testing, over 417,000 Pioneer accounts were marked as non-duplications allowing for further progress to be made in KYC.
The change doesn’t necessarily represent the completion of KYC. They need to continue to fulfill the remaining identity checks and other requirements to be able to migrate to the Mainnet.
Pi commented that these cases may present individual technical challenges as various groups may freeze for various reasons. After a given issue is reviewed, tested and fixed, the users with that issue(s) will be released in bits and pieces.
Fast-Track Wallets Face a Separate Gas Problem
A Mainnet migration problem affecting Fast-Track wallets impacts another 497,000 Pioneers.
These wallets have gone through a different KYC path and were subsequently destination wallets following a Mainnet migration. Some users were not able to retrieve their migrated balances due to insufficient balance in their wallets to pay for gas fees, Pi said.
Pi said that within the next week, the update was going to be released to resolve the problem before it can happen again in future migrations.

Pi Expands KYC Verification Options
The latest addition also addresses a number of minor KYC hurdles. Pi has optimised its technical workflows in order to minimise the occurrence of errors linked to processing intensively used video-based and automated KYC checks. It has also allowed for earlier applicants in the Yoti KYC process to re-apply for service when required liveness data was missing.
Livemodes eligibility may also be extended for older or lower specification phones. Pi additionally enhanced how its system captures face angle to enable a higher number of devices to finish the verification procedure.
For selected Pioneers, Pi has started a one-month palm-print authentication trial. As users undergo repeated liveness checks, the test is intended to offer a further means of authentication without requiring the face to be displayed during the specific liveness check step.
In addition, Pi has added a new resubmission channel for impacted users in Indonesia whose KIA identification documents were previously not acceptable for KYC purposes.
